Fill number of values you want to generate. Enter minimum and maximum value of the set. The rest of the inputs are optional and offer a change of number format. Description of inputs is below. The resulting values are pseudo-random. These numbers are not intended for cryptographic tasks.
How many results do you want. Max. number of results is limited to 100 000.
The smallest value to be generated. In math language, this is the beginning of a closed interval. It can be whole or decimal number. It can take negative values, positive values, or a value of zero.
The biggest value to be generated. In math language, this is the ending of a closed interval. It can be whole or decimal number. It can take negative values, positive values, or a value of zero.
Number of digits after the decimal separator. The tool can generate max. 10 decimal places.
Default is decimal point. You can also use a comma, which is standard in many countries. Or you can add any text you want. Separator value is not limited. To display decimal places, you must fill the Number of decimals field.
Default separator is none. It can be comma, space or any text you want. There is no limitation.
Prefix is a value placed before the number. It can be used for units, currencies, labels, etc. If you need a space between the prefix and the number, just type a space after the prefix.
Suffix is a value placed after the number. It can be used for units, currencies, labels, etc. If you need a space between the suffix and the number, just type a space before the suffix.
The most common use is to add leading zeros to a number. But here you have more than that. It can be any value you want. You have to fill the Length field to make it working.
Total length of number. Leading values are added to generated number if generated number has less digits than are defined in Length.
Default sorting is none, it means random. The final set can be also sorted in ascending or descending order.
Check this option, if you do not want to have duplicate numbers in the generated set.
We are very proud of wide range of generator settings. Prefix and suffix gives you the power to generate any currency or unit value you want. We listed here some examples.
US Dollar: Create 100 random prices from $1500 to $2000 with no duplicates and no sorting. Results and generator settings are available on example US dollar random generator
UK Pound: Generate 500 random prices from £10 to £20. Duplicates are allowed. Values should have 2 decimals. Use no sorting and display results in JSON format. To see settings go to the UK Pound random generator
Euro: How to generate 2000 random prices from €1000 to €3000? We want it rounded to 2 decimals with no duplicates, descending sorting and loaded in JSON format. No problem with our EUR random generator
Help: How to format currencies
Cubic metre: We want to have 10 random cubic metre values from 100 m3 to 200 m3. Numbers should not be duplicated. They must be in ascending order and have no decimals. The solution brings the Cubic metre random generator
Gallon: Let's create 100 random gallon values from 1 gal to 5 gal with no duplicates, in ascending order and 3 decimals included. Result with this set of numbers gives Gallon random generator
Random height of a person: Group of 30 people, we generate their height. Numbers will be in cm (centimetres). Smallest possible height is 160 cm and the highest is 205 cm Random height generator. If you want to have results in feet and inches, you have to use some of online unit convertors, or you have to create 2 generators. First for feet, second for inches and then mix the values together.
Driving Log Book: How to generate 20 random trips 10 - 100 miles? Use the Distance random generator, it is easy.
Generating random temperature is simple. You can use any degrees unit you want. See an example which shows random summer temperature in France Random temperature generator.
Min, max or both can be negative numbers. Let's combine it with decimal numbers. We can create a counter for 100 numbers from -0.99 to 0 with no duplicates and 3 decimals formatting Negative random generator
The most common usage is for leading zeros. So we start with it. Here is the situation: 3-digit code with values from 000 to 999. We need 100 random numbers from this range. Leading zeros random generator
Leading values can be any character or number. It can be also a text, more letters or numbers. For example repeating leading values #% Leading text random generator
Do you have source code of the app? It will be great if I could change the calculation procedure a little and import it to my own project. The API doesn't suit me because I want it for offline mode. It's for my school project, but I see a lot of potential in it. Maybe it will be a business in the future. I believe :) Regards Patrick
